Introduction:
In my 30+ years of recruitment, I’ve seen thousands of resumes. Some were creative; many were confusing. The truth is — most people don’t know how to make a clear, simple, professional resume.
A resume is your first impression. It should speak quickly, clearly, and truthfully.
Here is my advice from real experience — not from Google or theory, but from hiring real people for real jobs.

1. One Page Is Enough
Unless you are applying for a senior role, please keep your resume to one page.
Be short and clear.
“Your resume is not your life story. It’s your introduction.”
2. Write a Strong Summary at the Top
This is 2–3 lines that say:
- Who you are
- What you’re good at
- What job you want
Example:
“Mechanical Engineer graduate with internship experience in AutoCAD. I possess strong teamwork and time management skills. Looking for a job in the Gulf region.”
3. Use Action Words
Don’t just say:
❌ “I was responsible for…”
Say:
✅ “Managed client records for 200+ clients.”
Use words like:
✅ Created
✅ Managed
✅ Improved
✅ Trained
✅ Solved
4. Make a Skills Section
Example:
Key Skills:
- Microsoft Excel
- AutoCAD
- Arabic (Basic)
- Teamwork
- Customer Service
Always match your skills to the job description!
5. Add a Professional Photo (For Gulf Jobs)
For jobs in Gulf countries, a photo is often needed.
Make sure:
- Passport style
- Clear background
- No selfies or filters
“Dress for the interview — even in the photo.”
6. Save as PDF, Not Word File
Always send your resume as a PDF.
File names should be clean, like:
✅ Ali-Khan-Resume-2024.pdf
❌ Things NOT to Add
- Religion, caste, marital status
- Big paragraphs
- Lies or fake experience
- Hobbies unless they match the job
