How I Built Mahad Group from a Small Office in Mumbai

By Munshi Khan – Founder of Mahad Group

Introduction: It All Started with One Table

When I returned from Saudi Arabia in the late ’90s, I had experience, hunger, and a clear mission — to build something that could help others. I started from a small office in Jogeshwari, Mumbai, with one table, a chair, and a mobile phone.

Today, Mahad Group has grown across countries. We provide manpower, HR consultancy, IT solutions, and support for thousands of job seekers and companies. This is how I built it — and how you can start, too.

1. Find Your Mission First – Not the Money

Most businesses chase profit. I chased purpose.
I saw the problems job seekers faced: cheating agents, no proper process, and no dignity.
I wanted to solve that. When you build with purpose, the money follows.

💡 Start with “why”, not “how much”.

2. Start Small, Serve Big

My first office had no computer, no AC, and no staff.
However, it still attracted clients. Why? The reason is that I fulfilled my responsibilities.
I followed up, explained everything, and made sure people got results.

💡 When you serve better than big companies, people remember.

3. Build Trust Like It’s Gold

I never promised what I couldn’t do.
I never lied on offer letters.
And because of that, people told others, “Go to Munshi bhai — he will help you.”

💡 In recruitment, trust is your biggest currency.

4. Take Risks When the Time Feels Right

In 2010, I took a big step — we entered the Qatar market.
In 2013, I launched Mahad IT.
We opened Mahad HR Consultancy in the United Arab Emirates in 2021 as part of our expansion.
It was risky. However, growth requires venturing beyond one’s comfort zone.

💡 No growth happens inside your comfort zone.

5. Keep People First – Always

From job seekers to managers, I always listened.
I tried to understand their needs.
I trained staff. I helped people build better resumes.
And even today, I personally reply to people on WhatsApp.

💡 If you serve people, they will never forget you.

6. Evolve or Become History

We went digital. We used WhatsApp for interviews.
We developed tools for creating resumes. Set up websites. Entered tech.
Mahad Group grew because I was ready to learn new skills, use tech, and move fast.

💡 Adapt. Otherwise, someone else will serve your customer better.

Conclusion: You Can Build Something Too

I had no degree. I was not a wealthy investor. No special advantage.
But I had:

  • A goal
  • A work ethic
  • And faith in myself

If you have that, you can build your Mahad too—in your own way.
